| Presidential Message of Dharan Jaycees 2009 |
Dear fellow JCI members and friends,
First of all ,I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Jc Mohan Shrestha, 2008 President of Dharan Jaycees, Sen. Shyam Govinda Shrestha the Founder President of Dharan Jaycees, Senators, Past Presidents, all members of Dharan Jaycees and all JCI fellow members whose sincere contribution have made possible me to take such a great opportunity.
Dharan Jaycees was established in 1975 as a 7th Chapter of Nepal Jaycees, more than three decades past Dharan Jaycees has its own identity in Jaycees movement. Dharan Jaycees would like to be known in Nepal Jaycees by its values, culture and tradition of excellence. I feel proud and honored to be the President of Dharan Jaycees for the year 2009 and would like to take this as an opportunity to learn by doing and the challenge to lead my chapter to the greater height.
We are young and active citizens with global network who believe – faith in God, the brotherhood of man, individual freedom and dignity, government of laws, the value of human personality, and service to humanity. Our vision is “to be the leading global network of young active citizens,” and our Mission is “to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.”
Nepal is in the process of political transformation and the people of Nepal believe that the transformation comes through the shape of Government of Law, Development and Peace. All these becomes true only if the Constitutional Assembly can be able to formulate a democratic constitution for the Nation so 'Democratic constitution is our concern' and we always need good leadership to lead the transformational process and as active citizen we believe that good leadership is our social responsibility. So the theme of Dharan Jaycees for the year 2009 is ''Social Responsibility for Good Leadership". We provide opportunities for our young members to attend various meetings & seminars, JCI programs, trainings, opportunities to take responsibility of community services, entrepreneurship development activities and widen their fellowship through programs and visits to other chapters of Nepal and around. All these opportunities contribute a youngster to be a responsible citizen and a good leader.
We believe not only members of my chapter; all JCI members around the world are with us and take responsibility to empower young people for good leadership.
Thank you.
Sincerely yours |
